Hello!
My name is Cathy Fisher and am a Mental Performance Coach working primarily with athletes age 12-25. I hold a Master of Science in Sport and Performance Psychology with emphasis on Applied Practice. I have earned certification through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), and am designated as a CMPC (certified mental performance consultant), the "gold standard" for the field.
I was an Alpine Ski Racing coach for 30 years, working with weekend and full-time middle and high school athletes. Most recently, I worked for 10 years at Gould Academy as a U16 coach, a U18 coach, and Head Coach of the Men's and Women's FIS teams.
I transitioned to a mental performance coaching role in 2023, and continue to work with Gould competitive snow sports athletes. I currently see athletes who compete in Alpine Race, Nordic Race, Snowboard Cross, Ski Cross, Freeski, and Freeride. I work with student athletes one-on one in the pre-season, during season, and post-season to develop mental skills that help them with the many challenging mental aspects of competition. Each athlete's journey through mental skills acquisition is different, and I help them create processes tailored to them as individuals. I also am fortunate to be able to support them in their competition environment.
In addition, I operate a private practice to work with athletes outside of Gould. The company is Fisher Mental Performance Coaching, and I'm currently taking on clients age 12 and up. In addition to working with snowsport athletes, I have also worked with runners, lacrosse, tennis, soccer, baseball, and golf players. Mountain, gravel, enduro, and road cycling are sports I have coached for many years and I have had success working with those athletes as well.
